Penasco Holds on to A/2A crown in 2022
Last year it was a toss-up for what would eventually be Penasco securing an 81-point victory over ATC and Gateway Christian. A few key graduations and the gap between the Panthers and the rest of the classification has widened tremendously. Back are Rochelle Lopez and Charnelle Gonzales who most recently nabbed a 4th and 6th place finish at the Academy Extravaganza. The two returning all-state performers will take on last years runner-up Rehoboth Christian's Emily Garcia and Mccurdy's Aubrey Cordova who will play a huge part in getting her squad on the podium. Pecos' performed well at Extravaganza and will likely see themselves taking on ATC for a possible 2nd place team finish but Gateway Christian will be around in the mix also looking to bring home some hardware.
