4A Girls

Be prepared to see a common theme of red and green in the 4A state race. Hosting ABQ Academy has its advantage on this course and also the benefit of having a stellar season from their core seven with senior Katie Patton leading the way. Patton coming off a sixth place finish last year and more recently a win at Academy Extravaganza has to boast well for her as she attempts to capture the 4A crown. Emma Montoya has been equally just as terrific this season leading the Hilltoppers as she finished ahead of Patton in the state meet and has hit a huge personal best this season. After those two we begin to see a pattern of interchangeable all-state contenders in Hailey Mcdowell, Anna Hastings, Anna Wetteland, and Addison Julian of runners that will surely be rounding out the top five in some way or fashion. St. Pius' Trista Cordova has been a constant staple of class 4A as well as Loriana Piestewa and Kaydence Platero of potential top ten finishers. Not to be forgotten is Lisette Sanchez of Belen who could come around and outkick the rest of the field for a podium finish.
