3A Girls
Perhaps the strongest of the favorites this weekend will be St. Michael's Raylee Hunt seeking to defend her 3A title. There appears to be only a handful of girls in the state of New Mexico that could challenge Hunt and they happen to reside in other classifications. Santa Fe Prep's Nyla Griego and Sophie Bair return as all-state performers looking to challenge Hunt, with teammate Pippa Barrett coming off a 6th place finish at Academy Extravaganza. Cottonwood Classical's Sophia Lopez has the most experience of the state runners and has finished 5th in this 3a race the past year years. Santa Fe Indian's Destiny Chino and Destiny Marquez also will be a pair to look out for as they will play a huge role in how the final team standings play out.
