#14 Academy for Tech and the Classics
ATC will be going for a rare three straight A/2A state titles but will have to find a way to replace crucial runners that won them their past two championships. Individual 2019 champ Maggie Rittmeyer is gone along with Kate Ferguson and Kamryn Hoehne. Now they will look upon Josette Gurule who not only is coming off a runner-up performance in spring cross country but also fresh off 800m and 1600m 2A state titles in late June. Lily Rittmeyer has probably been the most consistent and reliable scoring member for ATC in the past few years and it is wild to know that she is still just a junior. Maiah Trujillo brings tons of experience and we will be hoping to see the return of Noelani Van Loon who finished 3rd in 2018. From there we will certainly be seeing a new face to the varsity group and it could be Aiga Den Hartog who finds herself among the scoring five in 2021. This team has proven to be just too deep to be beaten at the moment so it is difficult to put them as the 2nd best team in the A/2A classification going into this season. There is plenty of pressure that comes along with going for the third straight blue trophy but if there is a team up for the challenge it is ATC.
