New Mexico Girls Cross Country Countdown: #16 Organ Mountain

The New Mexico Cross Country Countdown breaks down the top 25 New Mexico boys and girls teams returning this fall. These rankings will include projected top runners and weighing how each team may do in their respective districts and state competitions. Changes to class alignments and adaptions to the state championship format have been taken into consideration. These rankings are based on past two seasons of performances and do not include teams that did not compete last year due to a lack of athletes and team information. All top returning runners are only projections and may include athletes no longer on the team due to transfer or out-of-state relocation.

#16 Organ Mountain Knights

There isn't any substitute for experience and the newly renamed Organ Mountain (formerly Onate) has more experience than most schools in New Mexico. This projected all senior lineup led by Tea Bloomfield who is coming off a 24th place performance this spring should benefit from the fact that they not only have been training and competing alongside each other for several years but also don't have to look beyond their returning squad for depth. Josslynn Ochoa, Makaila Hill, and Brynn Olsen are the remaining seniors that got that state meet racing this spring while it is likely that senior Morgan Law who has been in the program for quite some time will be a member of that varsity seven. Of course not only will they be tested early on among district rivals but will also need to be on top of their A-game for the blue bloods of 5A like La Cueva, Eldorado, and Hobbs that push the bar every season.
