#25 Piedra Vista Panthers
Prior to a pause of athletics in New Mexico, the Panthers of Piedra Vista were riding momentum from some team podium finishes including a 3rd place finish in 2019. That trophy worthy effort came with the 2019 individual 5A state champion Triston Charles at the helm. The 2020 season would finally arrive in the early frigid months of February as could be expected, the majority of cross country teams were diminished by multiple factors. Makua Harvey went from a 17th place finish in 2019 and although not being able to qualify a team to the state meet with a reduced championship, was able to bring home a 2nd consecutive state individual title for Piedra Vista.

Entering this fall 2021 season which we all hope to return to normalcy, the Panthers come into the year less of a mystery than the majority of boys teams in the state. They should return a pair of runners with championship experience with seniors Alex Long and Owen Miller. They are also a upperclassmen heavy squad with likely Anthony Murillo, Hubert Quintana, and Tyson Charles filling out the scoring five. This is a squad with these key returners to test the limits of district 2-5A and steal away a top 3 team qualifying position.
