Justin Howey put on a performance alongside Dawson Gunn at Rio Rancho Invitational that cut the state lead down to 4:31.88. Jerrick Maldonado has found himself now among the top three of all distance events. Other 3A runners getting their way on the leaderboards include Sandia Prep's Kaden Helmka nearly going sub 2:00 on his way to winning the Academy Invite this past weekend while Rafael Sanchez won the 1600m (4:37) at Academy to inch closer to within the top 3. As small schools get going in the coming weeks we are sure to see distance times cut dramatically. Check out below where others rank from the fourth weekend of action in New Mexico.
