Rio Rancho Preview
The Rams lose their top three finishers from 2018 but remain competitive with tightly packed unit ready to step up. It also doesn't hurt the Rams to host the State Championship venue every year. An unexpected state performance by Clovis and Albuquerque High led to Rio Rancho taking home 4th place. Leading the way for Rio Rancho is Dawson Gunn who finished his freshman cross country season strong last year finishing Nike Cross Southwest regional in 31st place. The Rams have championship pedigree, they are only five years removed from back-to-back State titles in 5A. Despite losing quite a few seniors, a plethora of quality runners Rio Rancho has on any given year is enough to put them in 5A title contention.
