Pecos Preview
The good news is that the Panthers return a solid squad from their 3rd place team a year ago. However the bad news is 4A still remains to be dominated by Albuquerque Academy and Los Alamos trading places every year for State champion. The last time a non- Academy and Los Alamos team won state in the classification was Belen way back in 2007. That being said, should a team be able to end that streak from the red and green duo, the Huskies have a chance to be that team. They lose two seniors from last season but maintain a strong group of underclassmen including Kaylee Huston who finished 18th as a freshmen. The key for the Huskies will be to divide the Chargers and Hilltoppers ranks for a closer point tally this November. Hope Christian is our Dark Horse within girls 4A and should be just as competitive as last year.
