Panthers Preview
Pecos took home their first state championship trophy last fall from a stellar young squad. Leading the way for the Panthers is returning individual state champion Junior, Vanessa Dominquez who will be looking to guide her team to possible back-to-back titles in 1A-2A. The Panthers have no room for error as the runner-up Academy for Tech and the Classics was just 3 points shy of hoisting the championship trophy. Expect Dominquez to being dueling it out with fellow junior Maggie Rittmeyer of ATC just like last year. The real race will be won with runners 4-5 battling to fill any possible gaps will be vital. Expect 1A-2A girls championship race to be the closest of any other this season as Pecos and ATC should headline the field.
