Santa Fe Indian School Preview
Santa Fe Indian School came up just short of their fifth state title in school history and 3rd in the past ten years. They return all but one from their scoring five including 3rd place finisher Christopher Humetewa who comes off a successful track season which included a state title in the 3200m in 9:54 as well as a runner-up performance in the 1600m with a 4:34. Their 1-5 split is one of the better in the state but will need to lower their team average if they want a chance at taking home the Blue trophy. Looking ahead for the next couple of years this Santa Fe Indian squad should remain in title contention having run four sophomores to a podium spot in 2018. Surpassing Zuni will be no easy feat, the 18-time State Champions are the gold standard of cross country in the land of enchantment.
