Q: What events do you compete in?
A: Discus.
Q: What got you involved in track & field?
A: I got involved with track and field my freshman year trying to find another sport to compete in along with football in the Fall. I noticed that a lot of football players around the state threw and so I went out, picked up a shot and discus, and started throwing... I fell in love with it.
Q: Any favorite memories during your high school career?
A: My favorite memory is my first track meet throwing Discus. I didn't mark, but it taught me about being more confident in my form and myself as an athlete.
Q: Do you have a ritual or routine before you compete?
A: Two packs of Welch's fruit snacks, A Blake's number 6 burrito, a white monster, and Metallica all the way to meet.
Q: What are some of your goals for this upcoming season?
A: My goals are to throw over 130ft in a meet, and hopefully qualify for state.
Q: What is a necessity for you at a meet? AirPods, a certain snack, anything like that?
A: My Beats, bananas, fruit snacks and water.
Q: What are some of your go-to songs to get you in the right headspace for a meet?
A: "One" by Metallica and "Dirt On My Boots" by Jon Pardi.
Q: Besides track & field, what are some things you enjoy?
A: I like fishing, skiing and Lifting. I truly love getting stronger.
Q: After a meet, how do you celebrate? Sleep, go to your favorite restaurant, what do you do?
A: I usually eat at places like Canes or Slim Chickens. Then, I go to sleep.
Q: What can people expect from your team this season?
A: They can expect a well rounded team, at least on the throwing side. The past years, we've had a state qualifying thrower in one event but zero in the others. This year, we have great throwers in all three events that are competitive and looking to put up some great performances in the sectors.
