Gianna Rahmer Stuns The Field At NXR-Southwest

Gianna Rahmer's dream season continues!

The Eldorado eighth-grader stunned a star-studded field at the NXR Southwest Region a week after claiming the 5A New Mexico NMAA State Championships

Rahmer kicked late in the Championship race to down Colorado's 3A state champ, Isabel Allori, and Colorado's 4A state champ, Addison Ritzenhein

Rahmer clocked 17:00 to take the title.

Allori finished second in 17:01, while Ritzenhein was third in 17:03.

Let's take a step back and widen our scope here as we dissect Rahmer's incredible performance...

We'll have to check the books on this one, but Rahmer may be the first eighth-grader to win NXR-Southwest.

To add to the already impressive feat, consider that Allori finished 14th at last year's Nike Cross Nationals, and Ritzenhein finished 18th.

Clearly, Rahmer is in really good company...

Rahmer's victory earned her a qualifying spot at Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Ore. in two weeks.

Among the many stats we'll have to check here is how many eighth-graders have qualified for NXN.
