
The New Mexico Cross Country Countdown breaks down the top boys and girls teams returning this fall. These rankings will include projected top runners and weighing how each team may do in their respective districts and state competitions. Changes to class alignments and adaptions to state championship format have been taken into consideration.
The Bulldawgs will be looking to make huge strides this season as potentially winning District 3-5A. It could be hard to believe that a team that failed to qualify as one of the three teams to State in 2019 now has a good chance at winning the largest district in 5A. Las Cruces will be relying on the only one to compete at the state meet last season, Mathew Krizek. Krizek got the individual spot but teammate Ben Widner has proven to be just as capable of scoring low and both of these guys could be key to determining a first and second-place team finish.
