
The New Mexico Cross Country Countdown breaks down the top boys and girls teams returning this fall. These rankings will include projected top runners and weighing how each team may do in their respective districts and state competitions. Changes to class alignments and adaptions to state championship format have been taken into consideration.
2019 was the best year for the Panthers in program history as they captured a 3rd place finish lead by the individual 5A State Champion Triston Charles. Now three seniors are gone from that Piedra Vista team, Makua Harvey returns as the 17th place finisher alongside fellow senior Eugene Tapahonso. Harvey and Tapahonso finished 3rd and 4th at the district meet playing vital roles in their eventual 26 point victory over La Cueva's 46 points.
