The New Mexico Cross Country Countdown breaks down the top boys and girls teams returning this fall. These rankings will include projected top runners and weighing how each team may do in their respective districts and state competitions. Changes to class alignments and adaptions to state championship format have been taken into consideration.
The Broncos will hope to keep up the momentum from past seasons as they attempt to unthrone Shiprock from the 1-4A. Kirtland Central off of an 8th place finish that saw their top runner Sophomore Satchel Hogue crack the top 30 at the 4A meet. A trio of juniors in Josiah Teller, Phabion Begay, and Mathew Hawkins ensures some competitiveness for the next couple of years. As the lone senior, Miguel Prettyboy will round out the top five for the Broncos. They are a team with the makings of possibly challenging Shiprock this season but as they finished 8th in 2019 they will have to remain just behind the Chieftains ...
