
The New Mexico Cross Country Countdown breaks down the top boys and girls teams returning this fall. These rankings will include projected top runners and weighing how each team may do in their respective districts and state competitions. Changes to class alignments and adaptions to state championship format have been taken into consideration.
Coming in as one of those teams that is a mystery right now is Alamogordo who is coming off a 7th place performance in 2019. The Tigers were in the middle of the pack and were sandwiched in between a tight contest with Hobbs and Albuquerque High. They return a solid bunch led by Junior Janae Shaklee who landed in the top 15 at the 5A meet. Vanesa Najar also returns as the 2nd best runner from district 3-5A which was easily won by Alamogordo.
