The New Mexico Cross Country Countdown breaks down the top boys and girls teams returning this fall. These rankings will include projected top runners and weighing how each team may do in their respective districts and state competitions. Changes to class alignments and adaptions to state championship format have been taken into consideration.

#18 Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes

Looking to improve from their 6th place performance in 2019, Cottonwood Classical must take on the most a pair of a trio of storied programs. There's no easy route to claiming the 3A title when the likes of Zuni, Navajo Prep, and Santa Fe Indian are competing. Zuni having won the past two titles and Navajo Prep the two before them. The Coyotes will need all the stars lining up just right if they want a chance at cracking the top three.
