The New Mexico Cross Country Countdown breaks down the top 25 boys and girls teams returning this fall. These rankings will include projected top runners and weighing how each team may do in their respective districts and state competitions. Changes to class alignments and adaptions to state championship format have been taken into consideration.

#23 Bloomfield Bobcats

It's easy for a team like Bloomfield to get overshadowed when they are in arguably the most difficult district in all of New Mexico.  District 1-4A has powerhouses like Shiprock, Kirtland Central, and Miyamura to challenge for the limited spots for qualifying to state. As in 2019, they were only able to send two athletes on to the state meet. Returning to lead the charge for the Bobcats is Jacob Benedict who's 26th finish is quite a feat considering the competition in 4A. Also seeing some state action is junior Cobe Downing who strode to a 55th finish. This will truly be a team effort go...
