The New Mexico Cross Country Countdown breaks down the top boys and girls teams returning this fall. These rankings will include projected top runners and weighing how each team may do in their respective districts and state competitions. Changes to class alignments and adaptions to state championship format have been taken into consideration.

#19 Pecos Panthers

2020 will see the majority of the Panthers returning only two years removed from their first state title. Leading the charge is Vanessa Dominguez who was the individual champion in 2018 and is coming off a runner up finish in 2019. Dominguez will be seeking to return to another title which would put her in the same territory as former Panther Ashley Quintana as a multiple-year champion. Pecos was solid with Savanna Ortiz, Loryn Trujillo, Mistidawn Roybal, and Kianna Quintana landing in the top 15.
