Los Alamos has slight edge over Academy heading into 4A girls Championship
Defending state champion Albuquerque Academy should be the favorite to repeat but a solid season by Los Alamos where they're only defeat by New Mexico school came from the Chargers on their home course. Neutral grounds at a challenging course like Rio Rancho could be enough to close the scoring between the two perennial powerhouses. The battle for the 3rd place honors is the likely Hope Christian, Shiprock and Miyamura. Individually, Defending individual champion Norissa Valdez will have welcomed company with Sophie Chadwick as well as Lidia Appell. Other runners following pursuit are Aisha Ramone , Alyx Mastor, Katie Patton, Lorianna Piestewa, Kaydence Platero, Grace Archibeck, Jessica Allen.

Academy is running to perfection to end the decade
No team has even come close to out performing this Albuquerque Academy squad the typically wraps their scoring runners in the top 10 every meet. Defending state champion Los Alamos will contest but even while returning the individual champion Rafael Sanchez it may not prove enough to win the day. Academy ranked regionally for their dominance in 2019 is the clear-cut favorites with the Hilltoppers in the runner-up spot and teams like Hope Christian, Santa Teresa and Los Lunas wrapping up the podium. Individually, Academy's Justin Hickey has been excellent this season and will be looking to cap it off with a 1st place finish to cap off a likely team title. Others likely to round out the top 10 include Angel Anchondo, Julian Garcia, Eric Scharton, Steven Strevell,Oliver Pilon,Rafael Sanchez, Rendon Kuykendall,Brian Armijo, Tayan Benson.
