The Cleveland Invite is only in its second edition, but the competition was once again fast and furious. This year, the larger Albuquerque stalwarts converged on Coach Kenny Henry's flat and fast course to provide an early season showdown of Personal Best performances. There were several intriguing story lines to monitor, with each coach taking careful stock of their competitor’s chances. Every school’s team camp dotted the infield, and each team’s tent housed a crew of athletes ready to race under the afternoon sun.

The best part is always the race itself, and Friday’s edition did not disappoint. The race itself was a doozy, the first mile was quick and exciting, as each team’s top harriers asserted their fitness and floated to the front of the pack.
