Cherry and Silver Invitational 2011

The University of Alabama men's track and field team completed competition at the Cherry & Silver Invitational at the Albuquerque Convention Center Saturday in its second meet of the indoor season.

The University of Arizona No. 14 women's and unranked men's track and field squads finished up competition in Albuquerque, N.M., on Saturday after taking part in the Cherry and Silver Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico.

Sophomore Hammed Suleman soared to a distance of 50-2.50 in the triple jump to become the first Golden Bear to surpass 50 feet in the event in seven years, highlighting Cal's second day of competition at the season-opening Cherry & Silver Invitational.

Kirani James set a school record and automatically qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships with a time of 20.58 in the 200m at the Cherry & Silver Invitational Friday evening in Albuquerque, N.M.
