Michael O'Hara, part of the Penn Relays record breaking relays from Calabar in Jamaica, is competing at the Great Southwest Classic this weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the 200, 4x100, and 4x200. O'Hara has personal bests of 10.19 in the 100 and 20.45 in the 200. World Junior bronze medalist in the 200 last summer.
US leader in the 300 meter hurdles, Norman Grimes of Canyon TX, is now looking to focus on the 400 meter hurdles for first time the rest of the season. This weekend at Great Southwest, Grimes is competing in the 110 hurdles, 400m dash, and 200m dash.
Returning World Junior team member Haley Showalter throws for a season best mark over 190 feet at the Great Southwest Classic.
US #3 ranked and 8-time Colorado state champ Nicole Montgomery will face her biggest test of the season in the 400 meter dash racing against Sharrika Barnett of Florida on Saturday at the Great Southwest Classic.
Blake Yount is the top seed and favorite at the Great Southwest Classic 800 after breaking the Colorado state record last month in a US #4 1:50.49. He comes from a Smokey Hill program that has produced past great runners such as the Kaltenbach's and Brent Vaughn.
Loveland (CO) junior Marcus Quere won the 2K steeple at Great Southwest Classic in his first steeple ever with a time of 6:23.

One of the nation's most throwers, Sophia Rivera of Brentwood (MO), is aiming to go for a sweep of the throws on Saturday at Great Southwest Classic as the US #2 ranked thrower in the javelin, US #2 in the shot, and US #16 in the discus.
Syracuse sophomore Hunter Woodhall, who had his legs amputated as toddler due to a degenerative disease, is one of the nation's best paralympic athletes at the high school level. Woodhall won his 400 heat at the Great Southwest Classic in a new 49.15 PR.
