Here are notable performances by New Mexico high school track and field athletes from meets held during the week of March 16-22.
Robbie Abeyta (La Cueva) ran 11.25 in the 100 meters at the Robertson Blue Invitational on March 21, improving from his previous best of 11.83 set in April 2025. The class of 2027 graduate finished 6th of 16 competitors and ranks #1 among New Mexico freshmen and #80 overall in the state. Abyeta has surpassed his performance from last year's NMAA State Track & Field Championships in the triple jump.
Collin Joyner (Sue Cleveland) won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.37 at the Robertson Red Invitational on March 20, lowering his previous personal record of 15.20. The senior's time places him #2 in New Mexico and #1 among seniors in the state. Joyner is currently undefeated in the 110m hurdles this outdoor season.
Allison Hobbs (Grants) clocked 13.32 in the 100 meters at the Rio Rancho Rust Buster on March 21, bettering her previous mark of 13.89 from March 2026. The senior placed 10th of 37 competitors and also set a personal record in the long jump with 14-7.25, improving from 14-7.
Raymundo Lujan (Eldorado) won the long jump with a leap of 22-3 at the Robertson Red Invitational on March 20, surpassing his previous best of 21-1.5. The sophomore's mark ranks #8 in New Mexico and #1 among sophomores statewide. Lujan has excelled in the jumps this season and has also run respectable times in the 300m hurdles, 400m, and 100m dash.
Leighton Webb (Farmington) ran 4:28.05 in the 1600 meters at the Chandler Rotary Invitational on March 20, breaking his previous personal record of 4:42.88 from March 2026. The senior finished 34th of 208 competitors and set a new school record for Farmington High School.
Sydney Hunter (Alamogordo) ran 27.02 in the 200 meters at the Rolla Buck White Sands Invitational on March 20, improving from her previous time of 27.48. The freshman placed 3rd of 49 competitors and ranks #7 among New Mexico freshmen.
Sophie Bair (Santa Fe Prep) ran 11:01.59 in the 3200 meters at the Chandler Rotary Invitational on March 20, lowering her previous best of 11:18.35. The senior placed 5th of 95 competitors, set a new school record, and also ran a personal record of 5:25.59 in the 1600 meters, improving from 5:29.28.
