Top 3 at the 2026 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE- The 2026 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational indoor track meet at the Albuquerque Convention Center Jan. 29 gave track fans a little taste of what's to come this track season.

Now, though it wasn't a full house, we still got a matchup between the De facto fastest returners in the state: Tanner Montano & Chigekwu Nwagbo. Both star athletes raced in the 60m dash with Montano winning by a tenth of a second.

Silver City high school made the drive, and thrower Kingston Lee took first place in the shot put. Lee, a freshman, recorded a 45 feet 6 inch throw.

Here are the top three finishers in all events.
