He's just an eighth grader, but Jadon Riley has already made an impact on the New Mexico rankings. 

At the NMAA Middle School Cross Country Meet, the eighth grader from Santa clocked a 10:31.11 on the 2-mile course, a strong performance that earned him the win. This marked his second race of the 2025 season and his second consecutive win as well. His performance was good enough to land him the #1 spot for the 2-mile cross country distance in the state of New Mexico for this season.

Riley ran a 10:38.40 for the 3K distance earlier in the season, so his new achievement goes to show the strong progression that the middle school standout is undergoing. It'll be interesting to see how he approaches the transition into the 5K run next season.
