Championship Races

The 2021 Albuquerque Metro Championships will kick start the final weeks of the season and begin championship mindset for those teams residing in the metro area. The relatively newer course at Community Stadium has played host to this event in the past few seasons as a mostly open, looping trail with an entire backdrop of the cityscape in the distance. Teams in attendance include powerhouse ABQ Academy, Rio Rancho, Sue Cleveland, Eldorado, La Cueva, and Hope Christian. Volcano Vista enters this championship with an equally talented group from its boys and girls squads.

Individually it will be Leah Futey, Carysa Marquez, Daniella Figueroa, Isadora Miller, and Emma Patton among the favorites in the girls' race. The boys' race will include Dawson Gunn fresh-off victory at Rio Rancho Jamboree, Rendon Kuykendall back from Desert Twilight, Eldorado's Jett Smith, and Naseem Dhaouadi,  along with Sandia's Steven West and Tucker Scott
