2019 NMAA 4A Boys 400 Finals Section 1
There wouldn't be a doubt to anyone watching in 2019 that 4A boys sprints were dominated by one man entirely. Taos Jonah Vigil broke records and was a generational talent that New Mexico may not see for the foreseeable future but as his legacy comes to end it's up for a group of new faces to take the helm. Another Taos' quarter-miler on the rise is Abdul Khweis who finished 4th with 50.76 to his credit. St.Pius Marco Ybarra boasts the top returning 100m while Chaparral's Luis Garcia holds the top 200m mark with both lacking state championship experience. Expect an entirely new sprinting cast at this year's 4A State Championship as graduations from 2019 and 2020 consisted of all speedsters. In the hurdles, Los Alamos' Westley Parker is the man to watch out for after his 6th place finish in the final as only a freshman at the time.
