New Mexico 3A Boys Distance Runners to watch out for in 2021

3A boys rejoice in the fact that a pair of talented distance returners will grace the track in 2021 with Santa Fe Indian's Christopher Humetewa and Cottonwood Classical Prep's Justin Howey. Both Humetewa and Howey are the 1-2 favorites in the 1600m and 3200m races as well as distance themselves from the rest of the pack in terms of their personal bests with Humetewa being the only one to surpass the 10:00 barrier in the two-mile. The 800m lead by Sandia Prep's Stephen Emeamwa although it could just as very well be topped by Humetewa if he were to attempt a distance triple crown at state. Also from Sandia Prep, Nahom Zerai had shown moments of huge potential and what may have come of that in the past two years will be a sight to see.
