The last time we saw Max Preslar was his 3rd place finish in the 2019 State Cross Country Championship. Preslar had appeared to have the makings of a breakout star last spring and will have the opportunity to do so again in 2021. The 2A state 4th place 1600m and 3200m runner is the favorite for both events by considerable margins. In the 800m, a plethora of runners return from the 2019 season and Texico's David Lopez is the man leading the charge fresh off his 3rd place finish of 2:02.47. Hagerman's Doryan Galvan follows up close behind Lopez with 2:04.49. Also sneaking his way through 2A ranks is Gilbert Valdez of Penasco who competing in all three distance race finals and lands in the top-5 for the 800m,1600m, and 3200m races.
