Texico's Gabriel Bailey is ready for the spotlight

The road to senior year must feel like an eternity for Gabriel Bailey as he was just about to take off onto the scene among 2A boys. Bailey was the state runner-up in the 200m, 5th in the 100m, and 4th in the 300m hurdles. It comes as no surprise as to why the Texico senior is the favorite in those races but Pecos' Rolando Sandoval could challenge. Sandoval was just a stride behind Bailey in the 200m final to take 3rd as well as nearly making it out of the prelims for the 100m. The 400m will see the bottom tier from 2019 finally have their shot at the top with Ricardo Chavez, Marino Noblitt, and Ian Apodoca all returning as the 4th,5th, and 6th place finishers. The 110m hurdles are wide open with the lone state finalist returning is Andres Martinez of McCurdy who finished 8th.
