Class of 2021 ready for their breakout season after a year hiatus
Many seniors are still looking for that coming out season after some early success in their prep careers they could have set the bar in 2020 but now await for their final stint. Runners that finished in 3rd of the 2019 state championships like Dawson Teune (800m), Noah Bugayong (1600m), and Jonathan Gonzales (3200m) return as the top guys in their respective events. Along the way, we could see some huge personal bests possibly a 5:00 minute mile barrier and 11:00 minutes for 3200m. Schools like Clovis Christian, Cimarron, and Quemado bring back the most runners that saw competition from nearly two years ago. While Quemado makes up for the majority of their team success from other disciplines, the distance could be their proving ground for what lays ahead in the bigger 1A boys standings come June.
