2020 New Mexico 3A Girls State Track and Field Championship Envisioned

Girls 3A is all Sandia Prep at the moment. They would have reeled in points across the board with an exception in throws. 100m and 200m champions Santa Fe Prep's Hayden Colfax and Dexter's Anayee Carlos along with Sandia Prep's Sevilla Duran would likely contest in the 200m once again. In the 400m, we would likely see East Mountain's Kaylee Baker versus a plethora of Sandia Prep with names like Skylar Gee, Sidney Harenberg and Maria Merritt in the mix. Gee would also contest against defending 800m champion Mia Walker of NMMI. If that wasn't enough of Sandia Prep already, Gee and teammate Harenberg would be equally capable of contending in the 1600m against Walker. An East Mountain duo in Marissa Case and Amelia Johnson are best suited to take the top 2 spots again in 2020 in the 3200m.  In the hurdles three names hold a good chance at finishing ahead of the rest of the field. Hayden Colfax, Sevilla Duran and Maria Merritt are 100m hurdle and 300m hurdle favorites.  In the throws, Tucumcari's  Secilee Skinner takes the shot put, Thoreau's Kylie DeGroat comes in the discus favorite after a 3rd place finish in 2019. Javelin could have seen Tularosa's Shacie Marr on top after a 4th place finish in 2019. In the jumps, Hayden Colfax proving she can do it all as she would likely defend her triple jump and high jump titles while also having a good chance in long jump if she competed but would be going against defending champion Kaylee Baker. Sandia Prep duo Sydney Pyles and Mia Chiavetta vault their way to the top two spots in pole vault.
