Entering Championship Weekend as the clear-cut favorite in the Girls 6A team battle, the Cleveland Storm left no doubt on their way to claiming their first title since 2012. While the La Cueva Bears put up an admirable fight, the Storm were too strong, claiming the blue trophy 101-87.50-44 over the La Cueva Lady Bears and Santa Fe Lady Demons.
Domination was the name of the game, and Lady Storm were well versed in the rules. Boasting 25 state entrants in 18 of the 19 events, 14 Lady Storm earned All-State honors in 14 events, five Individual State Championships, two runner-ups, and three Relay titles. Of those three Relay Titles, both the 4x100m and 4x200m set new State Records, while the 4x400m posted the fastest time of the day.
