The larger Albuquerque metro convened upon Sue Cleveland High School for the annual kickoff to the Track & field season. While usually defined by stormy weather and chilly winds, this year's edition brought much milder weather and even ended with warm sunshine during the final events of the day. As a spectator, this was pretty wild weather making for comfortable viewing and marked the excitement of many state-qualifying performances. For coaches & athletes alike, the reasonable weather gave us a chance to find a true indicator of race readiness, and now provides decent insight into the strengths and weaknesses of rival teams. As always, the Cleveland meet staff hosted a wonderful meet, and Albuquerque finally ushered in the 2015 season with friendly competition, excellent sportsmanship, and fierce performances.
