
About halfway between Las Cruces and El Paso, Santa Teresa High School played host to 16 girls and 12 boys teams from across southern New Mexico and the area borderland, along with the addition of one "Northern Star" arriving in the form of Rio Rancho Track and Field. The Rams made the trek down I-25 for a taste of what the south has to offer early this 2015 track season. With an overcast sky, cool temperatures, and the typical spring winds giving some pause to the day, the 2015 Santa T Invite provided an opportunity for some solid performances. By meet's end, the final team trophies went to the Lady Knights of Onate and El Paso's Franklin Cougars.

In the girls division, the Onate Knights ran away with a team win, chalking up (104.5) points over second place El Paso-Franklin (76.5) and Alamogordo (71). Leading the charge for the Knights were senior Yemesi Oroyinyin and junior Jennifer Ramirez, repeating last week's double individual victories in their prospective events....
