heavyweight battle, with the undefeated Rio Rancho Rams squaring off against
the undefeated Hobbs Eagles. Rio Rancho is the defending champions, riding the
steady brilliance of frontrunner Devin Paredes, an underclassmen who runs with
supreme confidence and a steely demeanor.
Under the sunny skies in Rio Rancho, with his fans lined along the course,
Paredes was ready to set the example for his Ram teammates. A contingent of
Albuquerque’s best teams, which included the Cibola Cougars, Volcano Vista
Hawks, La Cueva Bears, and Eldorado Eagles, were also vying for a podium
finish.
As the starter’s gun sounded, Paredes and teammate Michael
Goke established the pecking order, and it was clear that they were playing for
keeps. Cibola’s Chris Harlow ran slightly ahead of them...
