Clayton Lake Invitational

 Please accept this email as your invitation to our cross-country meet. The course will be run at Clayton Lake in Clayton, NM.

 It covers 3.1 miles of mostly asphalt road and a half mile of dirt trail.The course features a couple of small hills and flat areas.

 The course overlooks beautiful Clayton lake.

The Clayton Lake Invitational will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Clayton Lake State Park, 10 miles north of Clayton,NM.

 Divisions

 Coaches must register their HS athletes @ www. NM.Milesplit.com.

 This will be a Girls & Boys Varsity, Boys and Girls JV and Girls & Boys Middle School Meet. Boys and Girls Varsity will have a limit of a 7-person team. We will be using stickers for placing. Please make sure athletes place them so that they do not fall off during the race. Please provide TEAM ROSTERS of each division competing. Please indicate which race everyone will be running.  

Please enter ALL RUNNERS ON MILE SPLITNM NO LATER THAN September 3, 2026 . The  high school boys' and girls' races will be scored; the Top 5 runners, 6 th and 7 th runners will be used as a tie breaker. Middle School teams will be scored by the top 5 runners from each school. 

Packet Pickup

 Teams can pick up packets  at the main pavilion located just inside the park. We will have someone there that will be taking your entry fee and will give you your packet. The coaches' meeting will take place at 7:40 am by the main pavilion.

 Race Start/Finish and Scoring

 The Race starts just South of the main pavilion. The finish will be marked appropriately and will be close to the main pavilion. Runners will give their stickers to the adults at the finish line.Entry Fee- $75 entry will cover Varsity and Jv Boys, Varsity and jv Girls, and $75.00 fee for middle school teams.Teams that have fewer than five runners will pay $50.Please bring a check to the meet.

 Bus, Suburban, and Spectator parking

 All buses will be directed to park in the East parking lot near the lake. Spectators will be directed to a parking  lot by our volunteer staff.
