2026 Hobbs Middle School Track Meet
Welcome
to the March 10, 2026 Hobbs Middle School Track Meet. All athletes will be able
to enter in 4 events, no more than 3 running events. Also, no more than 2
running events may be 400 meters or more. All teams will be limited to 1
relay team per relay. We will adhere to the NMAA rules for Middle School
Track. Medals for 1st-3rd and ribbons for 4th
through 6th place will be awarded in each event and the top 2 teams' boys and
girls will receive a plaque. Please submit your entries to www.milesplit.com
Hobbs Middle School Relays
There will be an admission charge for the track
meet. Please let your athletes know that all spectators can buy a ticket
at: https://www.hobbsschools.net/athletics/tickets
All spectators will sit on the east side (Home
Side) of the football stadium.
Please remind all athletes that they will need
to be at the appropriate area for the start of their races and events prior to
last call or they will be scratched. Please have athletes inform the field
event judges if they need to go run a race first and then please have the
athlete report back to their event when finished. Also we will use hip numbers
for our electronic track system so make sure your runners get one before they
report to the starting clerk, and put it on their left hip.
There will be no Scratch Meeting!!!
Please keep team camps in the bleachers on the west side (Visitor Side) of the
football stadium, if they are not preparing for a race. Only coaches
will be permitted to assist and encourage their team from the track. We would
appreciate your help to encourage all other participants and spectators to
remain in the stands. NO pacing will be allowed.
Scoring: Individual- 7,5,4,3,2,1 Relays-
10,8,6,4,2,1
NO SPIKES LONGER THAN INCH WILL BE ALLOWED.
WARM UP AREA
1. Athletes are to warm up in the field to the left
of the Indoor facility.
2. Athletes will be walked over for the event
NO ATHLETES ARE PERMITTED ON THE MAIN FOOTBALL
FIELD
FIELD EVENT INFORMATION
1. Shot Put- 3 attempts only they must use one of
the shots provided. Each thrower will get their best throw marked. Throwers
will be scratched if they pull the shot away from their chin. Girls must
throw 30 ft. and boys 35 ft. to get mark.
2. Discus- 3 attempts only. They must use one of
the discs provided. Each thrower will get their best throw marked. Girls
must throw 60 ft. and boys 80 ft. to get a mark.
3. Long Jump- 3 attempts only
4. Triple Jump- 3 attempts only
5. High Jump- 3 attempts only for each height. The
bar will go up 2" at a time & will not be lowered for any reason.
