Athletes
Jaxon Stensrud: Just suddenly appeared on the radar. Ripped a quick 11.92 for the 100m dash that propelled him to the top of the class of 2031 in this event. That's his only race of the season, but it's enough for us to wonder what else the youngster has in store for us as the season goes on. He'll be back next year as well, given he's currently in 7th grade.
Brooklyn Antonini: An athlete with a bit of everything under their belt. The 7th-grader from Hermosa MS has taken the 2026 season into her own hands, tackling nearly every possible event. Antonini currently holds four Top 25 class rankings across the six events she has competed in so far. She leads her class in the 400m dash with a 1:0562 for the quarter mile distance.
Arwyn Link: Another athlete with a handful of notable Top 25 rankings. Link holds a spot on the charts for the 100m, 200m, 400m, and long jump. Her bread and butter appears to be the 100m dash, the event in which she holds the #2 statewide time for the class of 2031. She has secured a new P.R in every event she has competed in this season.
Jared Reno: A top sprinter in the class of 2031, the Texico MS 7th grader is one to look out for. Reno currently holds the #1 spot for his class in the 200m, 400m, and high jump, putting nearly five seconds between himself and the next best 400m time in the class of 2031. He's also a quality 100m runner, having clocked a Top 5 mark last week.
Abigail Herrera: The Alta Vista MS runner has two #2 seeds under her name. Herrera holds honors in the 800m and 1600m run, and is just narrowly off the lead performers for the respective events. She has set a new P.R in both events this outdoor season.
Enrique Escobedo: We can honestly say he is the best 7th-grade mid-distance runner in New Mexico so far. Escobedo holds the top spot in the state for the class of 2031 in both the 800m and 1600m runs. He has also represented Hagerman MS in both the 200m and high jump during competitions. He is ranked 12th in his class for the 200m dash.
Payton Webb: The only sub-2:40 half-miler in the entire class of 2031 so far. Webb, the 7th grader from Hermosa MS, has competed in the 200m, 800m, 1600m, and triple jump this season. Her forte is clearly the 800m run, the event in which she leads her class this season. She also holds a Top 5 ranking in her class for the 1600m run.
Kora Vo: New Mexico's top 7th-grade triple jump specialist. Vo leads the class of 2031 in the triple jump and is currently the sole owner of a mark surpassing 30-00.00 feet. She has won all four of her meet appearances except for one, the MS Wolverine Invite, where she placed runner-up.
