New Mexico Boys Performer of the Week (Nov. 3-Nov. 9)

This week of the 2025 cross country season produced some amazing performances for New Mexico's athletes. Let's go over our top performers from this weekend and vote on New Mexico's best performances.

CANDIDATES

Lucas Espinosa (Sue Cleveland HS)- Was the fastest runner at the 2025 NMAA State XC Championships across all merged divisions. Espinosa clocked a 15:13.70 over the 5K distance and secured his first state cross country title. The senior also helped lead his school to the team victory in the NMAA 5A division race.

Silas Brown (St. Pius X HS)- Brown clocked a 16:21.60 in the NMAA 4A division race and finished 8th. The sophomore was the top underclassman performer at the 2025 NMAA State XC Championships and was just outside the Top 20 finishers in the merged results. He was his school's #1 runner as a sophomore and assisted with their 3rd place team finish in the NMAA 4A race.

Diego Friedrich (ABQ Academy)- The fastest freshman at the 2025 NMAA State XC Championships, Friedrich managed to put himself amongst the Top 30 individuals in the merged results. He contributed to his school's team win in the NMAA 4A race by clocking a 16:29.20 and placing 10th in his race.
