The first full weekend of the 2025 track and field season produced some amazing performances in and out of state. Starting this week, we'll conduct a poll highlighting some of New Mexico's best performances.
CANDIDATES
Bryce Melton (Santa Fe HS)- The senior doubled at the 14th Annual Mike Pecos Invitational and ran both the 100m and the 200m dash. Melton laid down the #1 time in the state for the 200m at the meet and was still able to hold on to the 100m state lead as well.
Corbin Coombs (Organ Mountain HS)- A massive triple (800m, 1600m & 3200m) for the senior over at the Mike Castillo Track Meet during this weekend. Coombs collected two state leads during the meet while winning all three events he competed in at the meet.
Matthew Brousseau (Los Alamos HS)- Brousseau opened up his senior campaign with a 50-1 in the Shot Put. The Rio Rancho Rust Buster proved to be a great meet for Brousseau to use as a rust buster given his state lead. The invite was the first meet of the season for the senior, and it resulted in an excellent mark.
