The Mountain Vista girls cross country team capped off a historic season with a dominant performance at Nike Cross Nationals, earning their first-ever national team title. Their remarkable 75-point victory showcased their depth, consistency, and elite front-running power, solidifying their place as one of the greatest teams in recent history.

At NXN, held at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland, Oregon, Mountain Vista averaged 18:05 with a 1:43 spread between their top five runners. Senior Keeghan Edwards led the team with a fourth-place finish in 17:15.2, the fastest time among team scorers. Junior Juliet Frum and Claire Guiberson followed with stellar performances, finishing 27th (17:53.9) and 32nd (17:57.5), respectively. Sophomore Peyton Adams clocked 18:24.6 in 48th, and senior Brenna Jorde closed the scoring five in 89th at 18:58.6. Displacers Zoe Brandt (96th, 19:04.5) and Gabriela Boeckman (142nd, 19:39.8) added depth to the team's triumph. Their combined effort propelled Mountain Vista to a 32-point win over second-place Lone Peak (UT), with Clovis (CA) finishing third.
The Mountain Vista Girls Come Away with the NXN Title
Mountain Vista's path to NXN glory began with a commanding performance at the NXR Southwest Regional. There, they won by 70 points, led by Edwards in fifth (16:54.0), Guiberson in eighth (17:08.8), and Frum in 13th (17:20.1). Their scoring average of 17:17.21 was not only the fastest in the nation this season by 12 seconds but also the fastest team average since the Carroll (TX) girls in 2022 (17:16). This decisive victory secured their spot at NXN and showcased their unmatched depth, with all seven varsity runners achieving season PRs under 18 minutes.
The team's dominance was evident throughout the season. At the Colorado 5A State Championships, Mountain Vista scored 38 points to secure their state title, led by Edwards and supported by strong performances from their entire scoring five. Earlier in the season, they posted commanding wins at key meets, including a perfect score at the Continental League Championships and standout performances at regional invitationals.
What set Mountain Vista apart was their versatility and depth. Throughout the season, they were led by three different #1 scorers-Edwards, Frum, and Guiberson-highlighting the strength of their roster. Their ability to rely on multiple athletes to lead the team contributed to their undefeated season and dominance in championship races.
By the end of the season, Mountain Vista had achieved an incredible season average of 17:17, the fastest in the nation this year.
