In 2023, Gianna Rahmer made headlines by winning NXR Southwest as just an eighth grader in 17-flat.
In the process, she took down some of the nation's most elite competition, including Addison Ritzenhein of Niwot (CO), who went on to win Nike Cross Nationals that season.
Rahmer's determination appears to be just as strong this year, and we have the numbers to prove it.
Eldorado's No. 5 nationally ranked freshman dominated this fall, winning all but one of her races, including her second consecutive NMAA State XC Championship title.
Her season-best came at Desert Twilight, where she clocked an impressive 17:25.10 to place third against some of the nation's best.
This race was won by Ritzenhein, who finished third at NXR Southwest last season.
So, who is Rahmer up against this year?
Ritzenhein, Colorado's 5A State Champion.
Ella Hagen, Colorado's 4A State Champion.
Delaney Reuter, Colorado's 3A State Champion.
All of them have broken 17 minutes this fall, adding fuel to Rahmer's fire as she aims for her second NXR Southwest crown.
