This past weekend, we saw three state-leading performances in the boys' 800.
Organ Mountain's Corbin Coombs dropped a new PR of 1:55.00 at the Therman Jordan Relays - he is last seasons' 5A State Champion in the event.
Coombs is not only No. 1 in the 800, but he also leads the state in both the 1600 (4:05.43) and 3200 (9:01.95) this season.
NM No. 2 comes in at 1:55.93, ran by Charlie Vause on his home track at the Rio Rancho Invitational. Rancho sits right behind Coombs in the 800, 1600, and 3200 - we can expect and exciting matchup between this duo at the State Championship.
Also at the Therman Jordan Relays, Jeron Wisner of Organ Mountain clocked a PR of 1:56.51, giving him the NM No. 3 spot in the rankings.
