Austin, TX -- MileSplit in collaboration with the New Mexico Track and Cross Country Coaches Association (NMTCCCA) are excited to announce additional scholarship opportunities that will be available to the state's athletes beginning this Spring.
NMTCCCA and MileSplit, a member of the FloSports network, launched their partnership in 2020. As the association's premier sponsor, MileSplit provides New Mexican high school cross country coaches, athletes, parents, and fans with access to the most accurate and extensive collection of meet results, performance lists, athlete rankings, and content via their comprehensive database.
Additionally, MileSplit has sponsored the Marilyn Sepulveda scholarships, which have been distributed to one male and one female track or cross country athlete in the state of New Mexico. Commencing in 2023, MileSplit will add to its scholarship offering by awarding two MileSplit New Mexico Scholarships. Similar to the Sepulveda honors, the newly formed scholarships will be appointed to one male and one female athlete.
"The Land of Enchantment has a rich history of track and field and MileSplit couldn't be more honored to be partnered with the New Mexico Track and Cross Country Coaches Association, an organization who strives hard to keep that history alive," MileSplit Director of Data Alonso Rodriguez said.
"To complement the Marilyn Sepulveda Scholarships, MileSplit New Mexico will be contributing two additional scholarships for deserving student-athletes to support the future of the sport," Rodriguez said.
"NMTCCCA through its coaches create opportunities and experiences for our athletes to grow their future endeavors," NMTCCCA Director Spencer Sielschott said.
"MileSplit (FloSports) partnering with NMTCCCA have seeded a new scholarship, MileSplit New Mexico Scholarship. This MileSplit New Mexico Scholarship will enhance our Sepulveda Scholarship with two additional $750.00 one time scholarships," Sielschott said.
"Our New Mexico student-athletes who participate in cross country and / or track and field will be awarded for their commitment and dedication to our sports to help further their education," Sielschott said.
"These two scholarships for two senior boys and two senior girls are the starting blocks. This partnership focuses on the many reasons why coaches and athletes interact as teams with the chant, 'let's get better.' We all will become better served by this partnership. When our student-athletes have more opportunities then our futures blossom," Sielschott said.
