Academy Extravaganza 1-2A
Our first real test on the books for small classification schools as they get a chance against teams across the state in the lead-up to the championship next month. For teams like defending champ, Penasco will go up against ATC, and Laguna Acoma as the most likely teams to land on the podium. Individually Mckenna Sahd has run to perfection this season against A-2A schools and will once again take on Rochelle Lopez in another duel which may end up the individual race for the champion in the classification. On the boys' side, Tristan Pierce will surely be the guy to look out for as he continues to dominate smaller classification schools over the past couple of years. He will face off against Oak Grove Classical for will not only be an interesting matchup individually but also to see where teams like Oak Grove, Laguna Acoma, and Pecos stack up as teams likely to make a podium spot in November.
