New Mexico Cross Country Countdown Series
#17 Taos Tigers
Returning every girl from the 2021 state team should work out well for #17 Taos as they head into this fall. Last season saw a plethora of new faces to the Tigers varsity ranks including freshmen Aaliyah Padilla who led her team to an 8th place finish as she came through the finish line in 49th overall. Other returning runners from the state meet include Zoe Torres (56th in 2021), Elaina Cisneros (58th in 2021), Marielle Gomez (55th in 2021), Madison Rowlison-Elliot (68th in 2021), Breanna Taylor (61st in 2021), and Jacqueline Limas (87th in 2021). Marielle Gomez is the lone senior on the projected varsity seven bringing in a ton of experience competing in big races. This Tiger squad is one that can surely be in the mix for a podium spot if the summer training has treated them well. If progression can benefit this young team over the next couple of years they may be in line to compete with the other powerhouses of 4A.
