New Mexico Cross Country Countdown Series

The team most likely to disrupt the district 1-5A podium party would be the Eldorado Eagles as they land the #4 spot on our New Mexico Boys Cross Country Countdown. The Eagles return with a solid five including Jett Smith who placed 29th in 2021 and has a personal best of 16:59. Also back are Nick Moore (40th in 2021), Aiden Hadley (56th in 2021), Krishna Clarke (50th in 2021), and Brian Talley (52nd in 2021). This a group looking to improve off of their 6th place finish from last season with the addition of a couple of newcomers like Desi Garcia and Tesafaye Femling. They appear to be well off to take on district 2-5A rivals in La Cueva and Sandia which also will look to rebuild for the upcoming season. The Eagles have an upward battle to take on teams like defending state champions Volcano Vista, Rio Rancho, and Sue Cleveland which have had a share of the 5A state title for the past five years. They would need to see themselves progress immensely to land a pair or even trio of possible All-State performers this fall to seek their 2nd state title in program history.
